Why Contempla exists

Contempla helps meditation coaches build a career out of teaching. The more coaches who can earn a living from this work, the more people there are who can learn to meditate.

People keep practicing because of the person who taught them and the people they sit with.

What Contempla is

A coach gets one page. Their bio, their tradition, the techniques they teach in their own words, and what they offer: a membership, one-to-one sessions, or both, at prices they set. The coach gets a member list, a group, and a way to stay in contact between sessions.

There is no monthly fee for coaches. Contempla takes a percentage of each payment. Coaches teach in every tradition here, and we do not treat any one of them as the default.

A Public Benefit Corporation

Contempla PBC is a Public Benefit Corporation. Amongst our goals, we're committed to building a platform that supports meditation facilitation.

Who built it

Contempla was founded by a researcher with graduate training in religious studies and the history of contemplative traditions. The people who teach these practices deserve better tools than the ones they have.
